Increasingly, eDNA monitoring is being used to study eukaryote biodiversity [ 10 J-Mark J-650ML 12 ]. However, these studies have often targeted particular taxa J-Mark J-650ML than attempting to characterize a full range of biodiversity and few studies have been conducted in terrestrial ecosystems. Those that have taken place in terrestrial systems have most commonly targeted plants by sequencing regions of the chloroplast trnL intron [ 111314 ].
