This should give a minor speed boost. The Microsoft compressor is much faster and looks much better than the 3dfx compressor. This also fixed the DXT5 issues that were effecting any games that used that texture format.

Voodoo 5 3Dfx GlideXP Graphics company's next and as it would turn out, final product was code-named Napalm.
